If we want to have more Active Vocabulary, what shall we do?
Read books? Listen to Podcasts? Keep a diary in English? Watch dramas and movies?
Everybody enjoys English differently so any methods you like are great. HOWEVER, it is important to keep this in mind: We can improve our Active Vocabulary when we use the language for COMMUNICATION! Yes, we need to USE it to tell and listen to stories, ask and answer questions and make ourselves understood. So let’s learn useful verbs and use them!

「１週間後に」って英語でどういうの？by Chiharu スミス英会話大津校ブログ 「１週間後にカナダに行くんです。」 英語でどう言うと思いますか？ “I will go to Canada a week later.” でしょうか？残念ながら、このようには言わないのです。正しくは、”I will go to Canada in a week.”「〜時間後」や「〜日後」などを表現したい時、”later” や”after” を使う生徒さんがとても多いのですが、実は、未来のことを話す時は、”in —— hours” や”in —— days” という風に、”in” を使います。 それでは、例文でみてみましょう。「１週間後に会おうね。」 X I will see you after a week. ○ I will see you in a week. 話をしている今の時間から１週間後の未来のことなので、in a weekと言います。 お仕事で報告書(report)を提出しなければいけない状況を思い浮かべましょう。「これを３日後に提出しないといけないんだよ。」X I have to submit this after 3
