In Obon my parents burn stalks of hemp to welcome and send back the spirits
of the ancestors in the garden of their house every year.
That’s a traditional event called “Mukaebi”and “Okuribi” in Japanese.
I feel like it’s a sacred and heartwarming event that reminds us of our ancestors.

My family has always held a memorial service for my father before Bon while six years. So during Bon I don’t have typical things to do. Unfortunately the gym where I always go for swimming is closing during Bon, so I am rather less exercise at that time every year. The fact I meet several friends to go out drinking many times is also adding a bad effect on my condition.
You could do some exercises at home like push-ups, squats, etc. I could show you some exercises in class if you want. (^.^)
