I grew up on a small island on the west coast of Canada. I spent every day of my life looking at the ocean, walking on the beach, or in a boat. I love the ocean and miss it dearly now that I live in landlocked Shiga. If possible I would spend every day on the beach. Any season, any beach, any ocean. Lake Biwa is nice, but I miss the smell of salt in the air and the breeze off the ocean.
I’d like to spend my summer vacation on the beach located at the foot of a small mountain. Then I can enjoy both the beach and the mountain. If I’ll get tired of swimming I can go to the mountain. It’s the best combination.
