Sagamihara Smith’s School of English classroom takes audio sound seriously! Audio is something that has always been important to me, and I’m not happy if the sound isn’t good. This is something that I appreciate about working with Smith’s School of English because I am free to create a classroom environment that is suitable for language learning, yet very comfortable. And quality audio sound in my classroom adds to the comfort.

I love music, so it plays all day; music that doesn’t get in the way of learning. Most often it is light jazz, piano, or even some soft rock. It helps everyone relax, including me.

But it isn’t all about music to relax in the classroom. Very often I use the audio for learning. Sometimes it is something from youtube- a short clip of a movie that might demonstrate a language point, pronunciation, elicit conversation, or even get to know our teachers and students! The audio is extremely valuable when helping students with Eiken and TOEIC listening. That is the only time the volume is turned up.

Sagamihhara Smith’s School of English classroom is equipped with a state-of-the-art Bose sound system that functions well in any situation. It is small, yet “very big.” The students don’t even notice the soundboard in front of the monitor or the speakers in the corners of the room.
