Kiwami Yakitori Restaurant, Sagamihara

Sagamihara Smith's School of English is surrounded by top quality restaurants. Sometimes I like to treat myself to the best yakitori in town-  Kiwami Yakitori Bar is located close to Sagamihara Station and about 3 minutes from my school.

“The best yakitori in Sagamihara” is no exaggeration! Everything about this restaurant is fantastic. It is located in the basement, so there is no outside noise. The ambience-  a dimly lit dining room with quiet jazz music playing in the background. Perfect!  I always sit at the counter because I enjoy watching this highly skilled chef giving his full attention to preparing his delicious food. He is very meticulous about everything. Result? Always an excellent presentation, grilled perfectly, and bursting with flavor!

The study of English conversation is not confined only to my English school's classroom. I always like the opportunity to bring English conversation to life by asking my students to join me in real life scenarios. For example, this restaurant scenario-  let’s look at a vocabulary challenge. What do we call the stick in the middle of this delicious food? (Hint: it’s not a stick!)  I think I will take a student or two during Golden Week and see if they know the answer!
