Smith’s School of English Cares

Something I really like about working with Smith’s School of English here in Sagamihara is that the company cares for everyone-  students and teachers. Everyone knows that Japan is prone to storms, typhoons, earthquakes, etc. Smith’s School of English has everything in place in regards to notifying students and teachers when it becomes necessary for an English school closure due to unavoidable circumstances. The company  has made it very easy to get the word out in minimal time.

In my nearly 20 years as a Smith’s School of English owner in Sagamihara, I estimate that it was necessary for me to close my English school about 20 times. Sometimes it was due to illness, other times heavy snow, an earthquake,  more than a few typhoons, and even a pandemic. It is always easy for me as a Smith’s English School owner. All it takes is a quick email to our head office staff and they react quickly; taking care of me and my English students.

Japan is experiencing a pretty strong typhoon; now a tropical storm as I write this (August 2024). Yesterday so many of my English students were soaking wet as they walked through the door here in Sagamihara. As the day went on and into the evening, I thanked everyone for making the effort to come to my English school despite the bad weather. Just before my last English class of the evening, I sent an email to our staff; requesting them to close Sagamihara for the next two days. It was done in less than 5 minutes. Prior to that, an email was sent from Smith’s Head Office to every English student to check our website to see which schools had closed.

The system is very smooth and easy. Smith’s School of English Head Office Staff are super professional, bilingual, kind, and very helpful to English teachers and students alike. There is no confusion. Communication easily flows, problems and tasks get done efficiently. Smith’s School of English is a well developed and great company to be a part of, whether as an English teacher or English student! Smith’s School of English Sagamihara is also well developed and a fun place to study and practice English conversation.  Maximum English student talk time is our priority!
