“リニア中央新幹線”は、橋本駅のある神奈川県相模原市と山梨県甲府市を10分～15分でつなぐ超高速の磁気浮上式電車（英語ではMaglev Train）です。そして神奈川から東京の品川までは10分程です。品川から名古屋は40分程で、大阪までは1時間程で走行します。

現在、山梨県にあるリニア見学センターで実物の実験風景を見ることもできます。最高時速500キロメートルで走ることができるのは素晴らしいです。東京大阪の大都市を、多くの県を通してつなぐ長期計画です。神奈川県は相模原市に駅が作られます。私は日本の電車、特に新幹線に乗るのが大好きです。そしてこれから“スーパー新幹線”が誕生します！！今から待ちきれません！

Sagamihara City’s Future: The Linear Chuo Shinkansen

Smith’s School of English Sagamihara has enjoyed watching public transport in Sagamihara improve since opening in 2005. The newest addition is under construction, and won’t be completed any time soon. But it is very exciting to think about. What is it all about? The “Linear Chuo-Shinkansen!”

Smith’s School of English used to be located very close to the construction site near Hashimoto Station. This is one of the reasons I decided to relocate to Sagamihara Station, Chuo-ku, Sagamihara. The train track is being built 30 meters underground and runs right below my previous English school! The south side of Hashimoto Station includes a huge shopping mall called Ario, but other than that the area is under construction. The future is bright for Sagamihara City!

The “ Linear Chuo Shinkansen '' is a super high-speed magnetic levitation train that will whisk commuters from Kofu,Yamanashi Prefecture to Hashimoto, Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture in about 10 minutes. Then to Shinagawa, Tokyo in about 10 minutes. From Shinagawa, it will take only 40 minutes to get to Nagoya, and to Osaka- about an hour.

Currently, it is possible to see it for yourself at the Yamanashi Prefectural Maglev Exhibition Center. This is an amazing train that travels upwards of 500 kilometers per hour. The long-term plan is to connect major cities in many prefectures. And the city of Sagamihara will be the connection in Kanagawa Prefecture. I love riding the trains in Japan, especially the Shinkansen. And now we have a “Super Shinkansen” coming!! I can’t wait!
