The Cherry Blossom Viewing Party was fun! And it was gret that the weather was so fine. It was the first time in a long time to experience the blossoms in full bloom. I was totally satisfied. Smith’s joint “O-Hanami” partyI was invited to the Smith's Joint “O-Hanami” Party at Osaka Castle Park. There was a great atmosphere and the weather was perfect. The cherry blossoms sure were beautiful! I don't know how to thank Smith’s teachers enough for making this great plan. Do you know why Japanese people love cherry blossoms? ＜スミス英会話合同お花見大会＞私は大阪城公園でのスミス英会話の合同お花見大会に参加しました。当日は天候にも恵まれ大変気持ち良い、春の一日になりました。 あの日の桜は本当に美しく「今がまさに見ごろ」という風情でした。お花見大会をこの日に設定されたスミス英会話の先生方はエライ！！本当に「ありがとう」の気持ちでいっぱいです！ 日本人が、桜が好きな理由はご存知ですか？それは春のほんの短いあいだ精一杯に美しく咲いて、そして美しく散っていく、その“いさぎよさ”が日本人の好むところなのです。それはなんて素敵なことでしょう！スミス英会話はあの美しい桜にも負けないくらい素晴らしい学校だと思います。私はスミス英会話が大好きです。

How thrilled I was to see such beautiful cherry blossoms at Osaka Castle Park yesterday.
It was very sunny and warm, and I had a great time with some students and participants who I had never met before.This morning as always I saw the Smith’s teachers’ BLOG, the Soap Box, and I was very surprised at the Okamoto’s teacher’s article. He wrote that four Smith’s teachers from Okamoto, Otsu, Horie and Tsukaguchi schools were in Osaka Castle Park at 7:00am, even though the appointed time was noon, to secure a great spot for us on the day. I always appreciate Derek-sensei who is my teacher at Tsukaguchi School because his teaching has been plain, polite and providing incentives to me. However I find that all Smith’s teachers are great, not only my Tsukaguchi school teacher but also all the others. I am very happy to have been learning English at Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi School! Smith’s School of English Tsukaguchi student F(^^♪
昨日の大阪城公園の桜は本当に綺麗でした。心配していたのがうそのような最高のお花見日和になり私は参加のみなさんと和気藹々と楽しい一日を過ごすことができました。今朝、私はいつものようにスミス英会話の先生方で作られている“Soap Box”というインターネットのブログの中に、昨日のお花見のことを書かれた岡本校の先生の文章を見つけました。なんと昨日のお花見に協賛のスミス英会話の４つの学校（岡本校、大津校、堀江校そして私の習っている塚口校）の先生方がお昼１２時の集合時間よりはるかに早い朝の７時に集まって、川沿いの桜満開の一等場所を参加人数分確保するためにゴザを敷いて下さったことを知って驚いてしまいました・・・恩義背がましいことは一言も言わずに・・・私はいつも私の習っている塚口校のデレック先生はわかり易く、丁寧に、やる気を起こさせるようなレッスンをして下さるので感謝しているのですが、デレック先生だけでなくスミス英会話自体が良い学校なんだなあと感心しました。こんな家庭的で暖かなスミス英会話塚口校で英語を習らっていることがとても嬉しいです。スミス英会話塚口校生徒Ｆ(^^♪

I’ve never been to Osaka Castle Park in full cherry blossom season though I’ve been living in Osaka, Kyoto and Shiga prefectures more than 50 years and I’ve been called a “party woman”. The reputation at Osaka Castle in this season is that there are huge numbers of viewers and terrible scrambles for sharing the spaces. But I could enjoy a wonderful time with teachers, classmates and other Smith’s schools’ members by virtue of the teachers’ good job waking up early and reserving nice spaces under full blooming cherry trees. We also had perfect fine weather. All these elements made me excited so I talked about funny things in English during enjoyable games that I usually never talk about in Japanese. I’m not sure whether my poor English worked or not. The tortillas which teacher Edward cooked for us were delicious indeed! I’m really lucky to join Smith’s English school where we can enjoy English not only learning but also having fun through many events. 私は50年以上大阪、京都、滋賀に住んでいて、お花見好き、宴会好きにも関わらず、桜の季節の大阪城公園には行ったことがありませんでした。何故なら物凄い人出で場所取りが大変だと聞いていたからです。でも今回Smithの先生方が早起きして良い場所を確保していただいたお陰で、満開の桜の下で沢山のクラスメイトや他校の方々と楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。天気も上々で、気分はHigh,ゲームの中で日本語では言えないような話題も英語だと話してしまうのは何故？通じているかどうかは解かりませんけどね！Edward先生手づくりのトルティーヤも美味しかったです。ただ英語を学ぶだけではなく、いろいろなイベントを通じて英語を楽しむことが出来るSmith 英会話に出会えて本当にラッキーでした。ありがとう。片浦雅子 スミス英会話大津校生徒
