生駒には美容室がたくさんあり、私たち夫婦はいつも感心しています。でも、私のお気に入りがあります、近畿理容生駒店です。実は今日、そこで髪を切ってきました！彼らは早くて、きれいで、便利なサービスで、いつも感謝しています。

スミス英会話生駒校の生徒様たちは、私が3、4ヶ月に一度髪を切る習慣があることを知っています。ある日は比較的普通の髪の長さだったのに、次の日には日本の僧侶か高校野球の球児のような髪型になるのです。というのも、私のお気に入りのヘアスタイルは坊主頭だからです。

実は私は近畿理容生駒店では知られている存在なんですよ。来店すると、どんなスタイルにするかは聞かれません。他の質問はせずにどれくらい短く切ってほしいかを聞かれます！これはスミス英会話生駒校でも英会話の楽しい話題になります。生徒様から、どうしてこのヘアスタイルが好きなのかよく聞かれます。それから、いろいろなヘアスタイルの英語表現に移ります。時には美容院に行く頻度などを話題にすることもあります。

私は英語を教えるのが好きですが、英語を人に押し付けたくはありませんし、近畿理容生駒店に行くことで日本語の練習をする機会にもなります。幸いなことに、私は日本語が完璧ではありませんが、好きなヘアスタイルを言うのはとても簡単で、髪を切るのに失敗されることはありません。

ヘアカットのオーダーが簡単な上に、スタンプカードにスタンプを押してもらえるんです。12回通うと、１回無料でカットしてもらえるんです！これはとてもお得で、何度も通っています。

ところが今日、大発見をしました。近畿理容生駒店の店員さんは、いつも髭剃りをするかと質問をします。いつもは”しない”と答えます。ところが今日は、髭剃りの準備を始めました。私が質問されたことに気づかなかったのかもしれません。ともあれ、素晴らしい髭剃りでした。とても満足したので、次回も必ずお願いしようと思います。

Kinki Riyou Ikoma: My Favorite Barber Shop

Ikoma is full of hair salons and my wife and I are constantly impressed by this. But I have chosen my favourite: Kinki Riyou Ikoma. In fact, I just went there today and got my hair cut! They gave me fast, clean and convenient service that I always appreciate.

My students at Smith’s School of English in Ikoma know my habit of getting a haircut every three or four months. They always comment on the striking change they see: one day my hair is relatively normal length, and the next day I look like a Japanese buddhist monk or perhaps a young baseball player. That’s because my favourite hairstyle is the shaven head style.

In fact, I am a little famous at Kinki Riyou Ikoma for it. When I come in, they don’t ask what style to cut. They go straight to asking how short I want it cut! It’s also a fun topic of conversation in Smith’s School of English in Ikoma. My students often ask why I like this hairstyle. Then we move into the expressions in English for different hairstyles. Sometimes we bring up the frequency of visits to hair salons or what not.

One reason the Kinki Riyou Ikoma salon is great for me is the location. It is perfectly convenient. I only have to walk about three minutes from my school to get there. It is also on my way to Mandai, the supermarket where I shop everyday, so it is doubly convenient.

I love teaching English but I don’t want to impose my language on people, and my visit to the barber shop gives me a convenient place to practise my Japanese. Fortunately, since my Japanese is limited, my favourite hairstyle is very easy to say, and they never make any mistakes cutting my hair.

On top of the ease of ordering the haircut, I can get a stamp in their stamp book. After 12 visits, I can get a free haircut! That is a great bargain and keeps me coming back for more.

Today, however, I made a great discovery. The staff at Kinki Riyou Ikoma usually ask if I want a shave. I usually say no. Today, however, they just started to prepare to shave me. Perhaps I didn’t notice the question. Regardless, I got a wonderful shave. I was so satisfied that I will be sure to ask for it next time too.
