TOEIC  Lesson 47 (Mitsubishi iMiev Electric Car) VIDEO Script, Questions and Answers:

Script:

Yuko: Al, I just love the new Electric car from Mitsubishi.  It looks so cute and I think it’s cool that you can customize it by choosing different wrappings.

Al: Really? I didn’t know about that.  I just heard that it was shown at the LA autoshow last month and was quite a hit.

Yuko: Yeah.  I was looking at Mitsubishi’s website and saw that they have a page where you can play with the design of the car by choosing different wrappings for the car’s doors, hood and liftgate.

Al: That’s cool Yuko. Did you find a design you liked?  I wonder if we can go test drive the car?

Yuko: I played with the design for a few minutes using the website and I think I like the colorful heart pattern with the purple body color best.  But they have flowers and rainbows and technological patterns too.  And yes, I saw on the website that you can rent the car for 500 Yen an hour for up to 4 hours.  So maybe we should go check it out!

Al: Yeah sure.  By the way how much will the car cost?  Can we buy one now?

Yuko: Oh, I couldn’t find the price on the website but I saw somewhere that it will go for about 3.98 million Yen but the company is also planning to lease them. In any case I think this car is just right for many Japanese drivers given the short distances we drive.

Al: I think you’re right, Yuko.  Let me know if you dig up any information about the leasing price.  I really like the idea of just plugging in the car to charge it.  It is getting harder and harder to find a gas station in Japan these days!  The two near my house were closed and are now just empty plots of land.  I guess they are a harbinger of the future of gasoline cars.

Yuko: It sure is!  Ok, I’ll see what I can find.
